The Claw Authentic Spinosaurus Fossil belonged to Spinosaurus aegyptiacus. One of the longest and most unusual meat eating dinosaurs ever discovered. It lived around 95 to 100 million years ago during the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous.
Spinosaurus is best known for its long crocodile like snout and tall back sail. But its forelimbs were also strong. Each arm had large curved claws. These claws were used to grasp prey. Hold struggling fish. And possibly dig or hook into carcasses.
Unlike many large theropods that relied mostly on their jaws. Spinosaurus had powerful front limbs. The claws were thick and slightly curved. Built for strength not slicing. They helped control prey near riverbanks.
During the Cretaceous the Kem Kem region was a vast river system. Not desert like today. It was filled with giant fish. Sawfish with long snouts. Coelacanths. Early sharks. Spinosaurus likely hunted along shallow waters. Using both jaws and claws.
The Claw Authentic Spinosaurus Fossil shows natural curvature and surface detail. The outer layer has been replaced by minerals over millions of years. Creating a hard stone structure. Color ranges from earthy brown to reddish tan. Common for Kem Kem material.
Surface texture remains visible. Fine growth lines can sometimes be seen depending on preservation. There is minor natural wear from fossilization and excavation. But no heavy carving. No artificial shaping. The fossil has only been cleaned and stabilized.
Spinosaurus fossils have changed how scientists see large dinosaurs. Studies suggest it had dense bones and even a tail adapted for swimming. Making it one of the few semi aquatic giant theropods. You can read more about Spinosaurus research at the Natural History Museum
