Spinosaurus claws are formidable, curved unguals that once armed the feet and possibly the hands of the largest theropod dinosaur. Measuring up to 15–20 centimeters along the outer curve, these claws were used to grip large prey, secure territory, or anchor the animal during wading. The claws from Spinosaurus exhibit a pronounced curvature and a sharp tip, with a distinct groove on the underside where the tendon attached. Our specimens come from the Kem Kem beds of Morocco, where isolated claws are sometimes found alongside teeth and vertebrae. The preservation typically shows a dense, black or dark‑brown phosphate mineralization, often with visible growth lines and a matte or slightly glossy finish. For collectors, the most desirable claws are those with intact articular ends (the base that connected to the toe bone) and minimal flaking of the outer layer. Because claws are relatively thick, they tend to survive the excavation process intact, but we still check for repairs or paint. Each claw is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a note on its anatomical position (manual or pedal claw).
