Trilobites are the iconic index fossils of the Paleozoic Era, spanning nearly 270 million years of Earth’s history from the Cambrian to the Permian. Although not from the Cretaceous, these arthropods remain a staple of any fossil collection due to their intricate exoskeletons, diverse morphologies, and global abundance. Our Moroccan trilobite specimens are extracted from the Cambrian and Ordovician deposits of the Anti‑Atlas Mountains, a region renowned for producing exquisitely preserved, fully articulated individuals. The soft‑bodied features of trilobites are rarely preserved, but in the fine mudstones of Morocco, the calcite exoskeleton often retains minute details such as compound eyes, thoracic segments, and the pygidium. The most sought‑after species include those from the genera *Flexicalymene*, *Hoplolichas*, and *Aulacopleura*, each with a unique shape and ornamentation. For collectors, the key quality indicators are preparation completeness: a well‑prepared trilobite will be free of matrix backing, with every pleural spine visible and the glabellar (head) structure distinct. We also recommend checking for repair of cracks; a natural specimen will have minor fractures filled with matrix, not with glue. All our trilobites come with a certificate of authenticity and a label listing the species name and geological formation. They are shipped in sturdy corrugated boxes with foam inserts to prevent breakage.
